Nonby was Odysseus Leander's pet mouse. He is a rather old house mouse, and Ody pretends to dislike him despite being very protective of him. Although the first years' shopping list only mentions cats, owls and toads as allowed pets, there does not seem to be any problem with Ody bringing him along to Hogwarts.
