Quotes

James You're a psychopath!
Marina: I'm not a psychopath. I'm a high-functioning sociopath.

Marina: What's the point of being clever if you can't prove it?

Adaline: Mother! Without you, I'll get hung for this.
Marina: No, no, no. Not at all. Hanged, yes.

Marina: Shut up.
Grace: I didn't say anything.
Marina: You were thinking. It's annoying.

Marina: Do you love him?
Maisie: I don't know.
Marina: For your sake, let's hope you don't.
Maisie: And I thought I was bitter.
Marina: Bitterness is a paralytic. Love is a much more vicious motivator.

Marina: Nessarose, don't talk aloud. You lower the IQ of the whole castle.

Don Roberto: I just met a friend of yours.
Marina: A friend?
Don Roberto: An enemy.
Marina: Oh! Which one?
Don Roberto: Your archenemy, according to him. Do people have archenemies?
Marina: Did he offer you money to spy on me?
Don Roberto: Yes.
Marina: Did you take it?
Don Roberto: No.
Marina: Pity, we could have split the fee. Think it through next time!

Marina: I'd be careful if I was you, Ivory. A rush of cold blood to the heart can send you into cardiac arrest.

Marina: Never theorise before you have data, Maisie. Invariably, you end up twisting facts to suit theories instead of theories to suit facts.
Maisie: What?
Marina: Speak to James. Stop acting so woeful and making up these stupid fairy stories in your head.

Marina: Oh Grace. I envy you so much. Your mind. So placid, straightforward. Barely used.

Marina: Oh! You meant 'spectacularly ignorant' in a nice way.

Marina: Brilliant, Filip!
Filip: Really?
Marina: Yes. Brilliant impression of an idiot.

Marina: Sentiment is a chemical defect found on the losing side.

Marina: For future reference; when I say I agree with you, it means I'm not listening.
