Do you know what my mother used to call me? Dangerous. You're a dangerous girl, Lily. One day soon, a dangerous witch. And she was right. I am dangerous.

— Inny to Reilly

Lily Minerva Cauldwell (née Leander) (b. 9 November), more commonly known to family and friends as Inny, is a half-blood witch of the Potter and Leander families, the only daughter of the late Jedidiah and Lattice Leander (née Malfoy-Potter). She is also the younger sister of Sirius and the twin sister of Odysseus. When the twins were merely six years old, their father passed away due to a backfiring spell, leaving the children to be raised alone by their mother at home in Godric's Hollow. Having witnessed his death, Inny was left effectively scarred, with the ability to see Thestrals.

Upon attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at the age of eleven, Inny was Sorted into Slytherin House on account of her observance and analytical flair. Despite being separated from her twin brother, she quickly found a best friend in fellow Slytherin Sasha Thorn.

Family lineage

Early life

"Before she hit the world, she was this flame, so bright she burned. I think I knew even then that she was going to be remarkable. I felt it, even when I held her for the first time. I felt it with her brothers too, but with her... I was scared."
Lattice regarding her daughter's early years

Lily Minerva Cauldwell was born on the 9th November to Jedidiah and Lattice Leander, a pair of Aurors and two dedicated members of the reformed Order of the Phoenix. She was named after her maternal grandmother, Lily Luna Potter, and Minerva McGonagall, a former Headmistress at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Lily was born at 11.55 p.m., while her fraternal twin brother Odysseus was born eighteen minutes later at 12.13 a.m., therefore making the two born on different days. While their parents were holding them in the aftermath of their birth, a lightbulb in the room popped. According to her grandmother and namesake Lily, this was a shockingly precocious display of underage magic, as well as a sign to mark the births of two magically talented children.

The name Lily is an English name, referencing the lily flower and meaning "pure". The lily flower acts as a symbol of beauty and, ironically, innocence and purity.

Minerva is the Roman name of Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom, courage, strategy, and justice, (among other things). The name means "wise."

The name Leander is a Greek baby name, although it can be used as a surname; the meaning of this name is "lion-man", which could perhaps be cleverly attributed to the Leanders' most commonly being sorted into Gryffindor.

Inny: Well, I may die young, but at least I'll die smart.

Inny: Love, love, love... what is it good for? Absolutely nothing. What does it bring any of us but... confusion and bedevilment?

Nancy: You're sad.
Inny: Sad is an emotion specific to those who care.

Inny: Good is a strain. Being bad means never having to say you're sorry.

Inny: I don't get nearly enough credit in life for the things I manage not to say.

Inny: Sometimes I think I was born backwards, you know, came out my mum the wrong way. I hear words go past me backwards. The people I should love I hate, and the people I hate...

Odysseus: They're people, Lils. Not puppets. They don't exist for your amusement.
Inny: Of course they do. They all do. They're whatever I want them to be. They're mine for the taking.

Inny: I would break your heart.
Reilly: Maybe I'll break yours.
Inny: Nobody breaks my heart.

Inny: I do believe in killing the messenger. Do you know why? Because it sends a message. If she wants something from me, you tell that little bitch to come get it herself.

Inny: You can take anything if you want it enough.

Inny: We can never truly love our neighbors until we know how crooked their hearts are.

Inny: Don't mistake the fact that we haven't set you on fire in your sleep for trust.

Reilly: You did this. This is your fault.
Inny: You confuse me for someone with remorse.
Reilly: You hurt people. How could that not matter? It matters and you know it.
Inny: None of this matters to me. None of it.

Theo: You're dead, Leander.
Inny: Funny, you'd think I'd have stopped walking around by now.

Inny: Oh, no. My power is no illusion, Philip. I could fucking demolish you.

Matthew: You coming, Inny? You soon will be.
Odysseus: Oh my god.
Reilly: Shut up, Matt.
Inny: I'd sooner fuck a house elf.

Inny: Every war has turning points, and every person too.

Linus: All those things that mark you when you're young... that make you what you are. Never escape them. They just wait, don't they? The monsters inside us.
Inny: Monsters.
Linus: What would you call them?
Inny: Demons. But one word is much like another.
Linus: And when they're released?
Inny: We're most who we are. Unrestrained. Ourselves.

Professor Polmear: And what emotion have you chosen?
Inny: Anger. Jealousy. Bitterness. Tiredness. Hope. Lust. Love.
Professor Polmear: A veritable feast. All in that crystal ball?
Inny: No.
Professor Polmear: Well, where is it?
Inny: It's everywhere.
Professor Polmear: My dear girl, I'm not sure I understand.
Inny: It's conceptual. You just can't see it.
Professor Polmear: You're saying you haven't done it.
Inny: No. I'm saying you can't see it.

Inny: Now, time for me to go exploit some men in the name of grief.

Odysseus: You know they love you, don't you?
Inny: Well, everybody loves me.

Wendy: Lily, you look like hell!
Inny: I just got back.
