"You will love the Thorn estate as I do, I know it. Once you see it, you'll never want to leave."
Yvaine to Filip

The Thorn Estate is a powerful deal of English land in ownership to the wealthy and noble House of Thorn. The property on the estate was constructed in the early 1700s that held 1,000 acres of land adjacent to the ownership of the estate. Pandora Thorn and her husband, Kristian, as the Duke and Duchess of Marseille, came into the possession of the estate and claimed it as their personal home, where they raised five of their own children and a further illegitimate child. The house is a well-known headquarters for all matters concerning the Thorn family and the related Thorn Industries.

Description[]

Exterior[]

"You need to come south. You need a taste of summer before it flees. At the estate, there are fields of golden roses that stretch away as far as the eye can see. The fruits are so ripe they explode in your mouth—melons, peaches, crazyberries, you've never tasted such sweetness."
— Kristian to his parents on the Thorn estate

Overlooking the exterior of the Thorn estate property

The property itself that exists on the estate is surrounded by 1,000 acres of extremely fertile land and is a key piece of Palladian architecture in England. The exterior is both grand and restrained, constructed of fine-grained, silver-white stone. The Gibbs-designed domes punctuate each corner. In line with Palladian conventions, the interiors are much more colourful, exuberant and opulent than the exteriors which many believe to be rustic and old-fashioned. However, the colourful gardens and interior of the property compliment the muted tones of the exterior.

Close to the property on the estate, there is a known large lake that exits the 1,000 acres of land adjacent to the ownership of the estate and onto another's property, though an easement was granted to the owners of the estate to ensure fair usage of the lake, a necessity catered to their half-breed status of Mermaid and human, and in the case of Pandora, a Siren. Also close to the property is a large series of woodland that many consider being forest-like, where many wild animals reside, such as the large wild black billy goat that Seraphine often controlled as a baby by the use of underage magic.
